Created in New York, JOMO was born where everything moves fast — as a reminder that everything can, and should, pause.

We live in an age of excess. We have never been more connected, more stimulated, and yet, at the same time, more distant from the present moment. We are constantly encouraged to keep up with everything, be everywhere, and consume endless possibilities — as if slowing down meant falling behind.

It was during nearly nine years living in New York, the city that never stops, that Júlia Queiroz de Lucena Mergulhão discovered a different perspective. Amid its relentless pace, she found the value of pause and realized that true freedom is not about doing everything, but about choosing, with intention, what truly matters.

It was from this experience that JOMO was born.

The name carries two meanings. The first comes from the union of Joy and Moment: the joy of fully experiencing each moment and finding beauty in the everyday. The second draws from the Joy of Missing Out — the pleasure of choosing what is essential over excess, and understanding that you don’t have to be everywhere to live fully.

With a passion for design and a degree in Fashion Merchandising from LIM College in New York, Júlia has always believed that an accessory has the power to transform far more than the way we look. It communicates identity, evokes emotion, and becomes part of our stories.

When she returned to Brazil, she brought with her the inspiration, atmosphere, and perspective shaped by years of living in New York. JOMO was created to turn that vision into design.

Every collection begins with a story. It may start with a city, a journey, a memory, architecture, art, or a moment lived. Every detail is considered with intention — from the shapes we draw to the materials and colors we choose — creating distinctive pieces designed to transcend time and carry meaning beyond trends.

We believe good design is not simply meant to be seen, but to be lived in. That is why every piece is created to accompany moments, evoke memories, and become part of the story of the person who chooses it.

More than eyewear, we create an invitation to live in the present. Because true joy is not about being everywhere,  it is about being fully present, exactly where you choose to be.
